Job description
Our strategic partner is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to carry out preventive maintenance for production equipment and help sustain reliable, safe, and continuous plant operations. The role focuses on scheduled maintenance execution, equipment condition monitoring, basic breakdown support, maintenance documentation, spare-parts coordination, and strict compliance with approved maintenance procedures, LOTO, and PPE requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Execute daily preventive maintenance activities according to the approved PM schedule and trained maintenance SOPs.
- Inspect and service equipment, replace parts within the approved maintenance scope, and follow established maintenance procedures.
- Monitor equipment condition indicators, including vibration, temperature, noise, and lubrication status, and promptly report abnormalities outside the planned PM scope.
- Coordinate with production operators and supervisors to arrange suitable maintenance windows for planned maintenance activities.
- Apply Lockout-Tagout (LOTO), required PPE, and 5S practices during maintenance work, and stop maintenance activity when safety requirements are not fully in place.
- Support breakdown technicians when equipment failures occur outside scheduled preventive maintenance activities.
- Complete PM logbooks and breakdown reports accurately and update maintenance records in SAP HANA (PM module).
- Identify spare-parts requirements, report replenishment needs, and coordinate with the spare-parts function for parts issuance in accordance with procedure.
- Provide maintenance data to support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment breakdowns.
- Participate in technical learning and contribute to maintenance improvement activities.
Requirements
- College or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field.
- Approximately 2 years of experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance within a manufacturing environment
- Practical mechanical or electrical technical capability relevant to the assigned discipline; mechanical skills may include disassembly, alignment, lubrication, and bearings, while electrical skills may include motors, VSDs, control panels, and electrical measurement.
- Ability to follow preventive maintenance SOPs consistently, complete all required steps, and maintain accurate maintenance logs.
- Strong knowledge of LOTO and PPE requirements, with the discipline to stop work when a safety risk is identified.
- Ability to read basic mechanical or electrical drawings and simple technical manuals, including basic English-language technical documentation.
- Ability to maintain PM logbooks accurately and update basic maintenance records in SAP HANA (PM module).
- Experience with equipment from international machinery suppliers is an advantage.
- Experience in continuous manufacturing environments such as synthetic fiber, polymer, industrial textiles, chemicals, or food production is an advantage.
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification.
- A Mechanical or Electrical vocational certificate relevant to the assigned discipline is required.
- Workplace safety and LOTO certification are required; internal PM SOP and equipment-vendor operation certifications will be provided through company training where applicable.
- TPM, basic vibration analysis, or basic thermal imaging certification is preferred.
- Native-level Vietnamese and basic English sufficient to read spare-parts labels and simple technical manuals.
- Honest, reliable, detail-oriented, and careful, with good physical condition and the ability to remain calm during complex maintenance activities or equipment incidents.
- Strong learning mindset, teamwork, adaptability, and willingness to support breakdown-related maintenance needs outside normal hours when required.
