Job description
Our strategic partner is seeking an IT Project Manager with strong Japanese communication skills to lead software delivery engagements involving complex customer requirements. The role coordinates cross-functional teams, translates business needs into executable project plans and development activities, oversees delivery quality, and may travel to Japan for meetings with clients and stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage software development projects of significant complexity from initiation through completion.
- Gather and analyze customer requirements to ensure clear understanding of project objectives and expectations.
- Develop comprehensive execution plans that outline project scope, timelines, resources, and deliverables.
- Create and assign development tasks to team members, ensuring workload distribution aligns with project priorities.
- Coordinate activities across cross-functional teams to maintain alignment and facilitate collaboration.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality project outcomes that meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Travel to Japan as needed to conduct face-to-face meetings with clients and key stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Minimum 8 years of experience as a Project Manager or Delivery Manager in the IT industry.

At least 2 years of professional experience working directly with Japanese clients.
- Demonstrated proficiency in software development project management practices and methodologies.
- Strong capability in applying knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to fulfill project requirements.
- Mandatory knowledge and hands-on experience with Agile methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills in Japanese with a minimum of N2 certification level; N1 proficiency is preferred.
- Willingness and ability to learn and understand new business domains and technical areas.
- Good command of English is an advantage.
- PMP certification is preferred.
